This church complex was built in two phases, the main worship building with a unique curved roof first, then the fellowship hall with a simpler gabled roof at a later date. The client wanted to connect and unify the two buildings with a new exterior covered entry structure. DMS provided a design that plays off the existing roof lines and mediates between the buildings, creating a new curving roof canopy adjacent to the church which merges with a more linear covered passageway connecting to the fellowship hall, the columns of the new structure echoing the tress in the surrounding landscape.
