The clients for this house remodel, located on a spacious corner lot in Irvington, wanted to expand the living space for their large family as well as improve the ‘boxy’ appearance of the house from the street. DMS completely changed the character of the house by modifying the gambrel roof to be a series of gables, and revising many of the exterior materials and details. A slightly lower addition strengthened the proportions and presence of the house, while extensive landscape elements and decks beautifully integrated the building with the site.
